Apple Sued After it Admits to “Purposely” Slowing Older iPhones

Apple’s decision to come out honestly about the recent old-battery blunder has taken a destructive turn. Two iPhone owners have now filed a lawsuit against the tech giant for influencing users to replace workable batteries or even upgrade to higher models.

Stefan Bogdanovich and Dakota Speas, who have filed the petition in a California District Court, claimed that Apple interferes with the normal operations of older devices “intentionally” to earn more profits from warranty repairs and sales of newer iPhones.

While Apple is yet to respond to the suit, the negative publicity is likely to invite more skeptics onto the legal turf. Meanwhile, the complainants are seeking class-action status for the lawsuit which means Apple’s troubles are here to stay for a little longer.
